Peace of Mind

Beautiful Thought- Lord Buddha

Once Buddha was travelling with a few of his followers. While they were passing a lake, Buddha told one of his disciples, "I am thirsty. Do get me some water from the lake."

The disciple walked up to the lake. At that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy and turbid. The disciple thought, "How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink?"

So he came back and told Buddha, "The water in there is very muddy. I don't think it is fit to drink."

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake.

The disciple went back, and found that the water was still muddy. He returned and informed Buddha about the same.
After sometime, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back.
This time, the disciple found the mud had settled down, and the water was clean and clear. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said," See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be, and the mud settled down on its own -- and you have clear water.
Your mind is like that too ! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don't have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless."
Having 'Peace of Mind' is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process!

8 Wonder Foods to Take Care of Your Eyes

·

When we talk about staying healthy, we mostly focus on heart, bones, and brain. But for healthy ageing, we also require our eyes to be fit and healthy. With ageing, different problems ail our eyes, such as loss of vision, cataract, macular degeneration and night vision problems. There are several nutrients, which help to protect our eyes, such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin E. Here are some foods that are easily available and are beneficial for eyes.

Carrots

Carrots have beta-carotene as its major ingredient. It helps to diminish the chances of macular degeneration and cataract. Carrots can easily be used in salads, soups and as a side veggie with dinner or lunch.

Leafy Vegetables

Dark green veggies such as lettuce, spinach or collard green contain lutein, which prevents cell damage. Lutein is present in the back part of our eyes. Keeping leafy vegetables as a part of your diet would protect retina from being destroyed. Green veggies are a great base for all sorts of salad.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a super side starch with dinner, and if baked with small amounts of oil, make scrumptious homemade fries. Orange colour fruits and veggies get the colour from beta-carotene, which helps in maintaining healthy eyesight. Eating apricots and pumpkin can also help a lot in brightening of your eyes.

Fish

Sardines, tuna, mackerel and salmon, are some of the fishes that are extremely rich in omega 3 fatty acids. They help in protecting tiny blood vessels present in the eyes. Fish can also prevent inflammation of the eyes. According to the analysis in Archives of Ophthalmology, women whose diet is rich in omega-3 fatty acids (commonly found in fish) are at significantly lower risk of developing age-related macular degeneration.

Eggs

Eggs are an important source of zeaxanthin, lutein, vitamin B12, vitamin D, vitamin A, which help in protecting your eyes from ultraviolet rays and age-related degeneration. A research by the National Institutes of Health, USA, shows that people who eat eggs every day have less risk of developing cataract.

Broccoli

Broccoli can keep heart and cancer diseases away from you, but it can protect your eyes as well. It has nutrients, which reduce the problems related to macular degeneration and loss of vision.

Wheat Germ

Wheat germ is the most vitamin and mineral rich part of the wheat kernel. It helps in decreasing the development of cataract and macular degeneration. Another food that is good for eyes is almonds. They are a great source of vitamin E, which helps in keeping your eyes healthy. One handful (an ounce) provides about half of your daily dose of vitamin E.

Beans

Beans ranging from kidney beans to chick peas and lentils are a great source of zinc. They help to get vitamin A from the liver to the retina for eye-protective melanin production. Proper amounts of zinc, helps with night vision and cataract prevention. Zinc is also present in beef and poultry.

Eat Healthy Always!

When it comes to the health of our eyes avoid Trans fats and eat healthier, it will benefit your eyes in every way. At the end of the day, a diet, which is rich in veggies, fruits, meat and fish, and whole grain, would benefit your body in every way. Eating fresh and healthy food helps in gaining healthy eyes with good and long-lasting vision.

Girls Be Careful -  "Friends please share this info.

1) Taking an Auto or Taxi at Night.

Experts Say: Before getting into an auto at night, note down its registration number. Then use the mobile to call your family or friend and pass on the details to them in the language the driver understands. Even if no one answers your call, pretend you are in a conversation. The driver now knows someone has his details and he will be in serious trouble if anything goes wrong. He is now bound to take you home safe and sound. A potential attacker is now your De facto protector!

2) What to do if a stranger tries to attack you when you are alone in your house, run into the kitchen.

Experts Say: You alone know where the chili powder and turmeric are kept. And where the knives and plates are. All these can be turned into deadly weapons. If nothing else, start throwing plates and utensils all over.

Let them break. Scream. Remember that noiseis the greatest enemy of a molester. He does not want to be caught.

3}What should a woman do if she finds herself alone in the company of a strange male as she prepares to enter a lift in a high-rise apartment late at night?

Experts Say: Enter the lift. If you need to reach the 13th floor, press all the buttons up to your destination. No one will dare attack you in a lift that stops on every floor.

4}What if the driver turns into a street he is not supposed to - and you feel you are entering a danger zone?

Experts Say: Use the handle of your purse or your stole (dupatta) to wrap around his neck and pull him back. Within seconds, he will feel choked and helpless. In case you don’t have a purse or stole just pull him back by his collar. The top button of his shirt would then do the same trick.

5} If you are stalked at night.

Expert Say: enter a shop or a house and explain your predicament. If it is night and shops are not open, go inside an ATM box. ATM centers always have security guards. They are also monitored by close circuit television. Fearing identification, no one will dare attack you.
After all, being mentally alert is the greatest weapon you can ever have. Please spread it to all those women u care for their safety. & tag your friends and let them know

BE BRAVE,, STAY SAFE. .
