One of my colleague informed that a fraudulent cash withdrawal has been made by the miscreants from his bank account
by offering some discounts on use of ATM Debit card.
The details described by the employee are as below:
At Inorbit Mall premises, Madhapur, one counter was placed in the name of “Make My Deal”
They offered Rs. 250 talk time on use of ATM Debit Card for Rs. 50, by entering PIN of ATM Card in the swiping machine, which the employee did.
A Discount Card was also given to the employee by saying that discounts will be given if that card is shown at the specified outlets.
The employee got the talk time for Rs. 250 immediately, after paying Rs. 50 through ATM Debit card.
On the third day, the employee got a message that an amount of Rs. 14,000 has been withdrawn from his account. When he enquired with the bank on the
transaction, bank informed that the cash has been withdrawn by using his own debit card.
Similar instances were faced by his friends also, who used ATM debit card at that counter.
It appears that duplicate ATM card was generated with the information shared by the employee at that counter.
If any of you have used your debit cards for these kinds of offers, please make sure to block your cards.
