How does a person with vision impairment use the computer?
1. JAWS helps the blind / VI person in typing by providing speech output through the multimedia speakers. Hence while typing, the person is fully aware of what is being typed. Any key or command pressed is mentioned out loud by the software.
2. JAWS also alerts the user when any change appears on the screen such as dialog box, menus etc. and enables the user to answer it.
3. JAWS works very well with the standard Windows applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, etc. It is a powerful tool that can also be customized for nonstandard products or applications that are available
in the market. The customization has to be done by the trainers/technicians familiar with JAWS.
